Acupressure

Re-balance with an Acupressure session

Acupressure therapy is a holistic approach in Chinese Medicine dating back over 3000 years. It is based on creating balance and re-establishing circulation in your body using carefully chosen points.  This type of therapy is used to free up energy blockages that cause health issues such as insomnia, headaches, anxiety and stress.

An acupressure practitioner will use a noninvasive technique that directs and facilitates the movement of energy in the body to help restore the systems to a state of balance. By applying pressure to specific points in the body near the meridian or energy lines for 1-3 minutes each, energy will begin to flow freely throughout the body. This is performed while the client is fully clothed.

Acupressure at Energie Encorps is covered by health insurance under Massage Therapy.

* Acupressure with consultation is required for first time appointments or if last appointment was more than one year ago.

What happens in an Acupressure session?

For your first appointment you are required to book the acupressure with consultation. The acupressure practitioner will sit down with you to evaluate your current state of health using a questionnaire. You will then lie down on a massage table fully clothed to start the initial treatment.

During the treatment, the therapist will press on the various pressure points on your body for 1-3 minutes each. Pressure on points may vary from gentle to firm depending on the person and will be adjusted based on each pressure point.

After the first session, the therapist will determine a follow-up plan specific to you. Typically results will be seen after a few sessions.

Note: We also offer Acupressure Massage treatments which are done without clothes.
