If you are in menopause or post-menopause, you may feel as though your body is betraying you. You have the same diet and do the same physical exercises as before, but your body is gaining weight—especially around the belly—and you don’t see when it will stabilize. The key to releasing excess weight, even during menopause, is identifying the 2–3 most impactful habits to change and giving yourself the decisive push needed. Once again, we begin to honor our body and its needs. What are the first 2 things you should no longer have in your body? Inflammation Cortisol As long as you have inflammation and high cortisol levels, losing excess weight will be difficult because, during menopause, hormonal changes cause an increase in inflammation and cortisol. Mireille Martel specializes in teaching movement to help women become sovereign over their health.
