200-hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training with Energie EnCorps owner, Rozel Gonzales (RYT 500)
Whether you are interested in becoming a certified yoga teacher or are simply interested in deepening your personal practice, this course is for you. This 11-month course promises an amazing journey with like-minded souls ready for personal development and growth in Body, Mind, and Spirit.

Rozel Biography:
Rozel Gonzales, owner of Energie Encorps, brings over 20 years of teaching experience to this teacher training. A traditionally trained Ashtanga instructor, Rozel teaches with compassion and an open heart, truly there to encourage her students to grow in body, mind, and spirit... teaching from the understanding that yoga is for all.

Rozel is passionate about continuous learning and travels each year to attends teacher training, workshops and classes to deepen her practice. Grateful for the teachers in her life, Mark and Shankara Darby and Manju Jois, son of the late Ashtanga guru, Pattabhi Jois, Rozel continues to evolve and change as she meets other amazing teachers along her lifelong journey. In 2017 Rozel became a registered massage therapist and was Roll Model trained to incorporate myofascial release with Yoga TuneUp therapy balls. Each year she is committed to learning more to bring back to her students and to the studio.

In 2020, Rozel became an internationally recognized yoga teacher now offering classes on the global OmStars platform in collaboration with Kino MacGregor.

Topics to be covered: (Bilingual instruction)

  • The basis of Ashtanga Yoga, sourcing from the Roots.
  • Breath and Vinyasa: Learning the mechanism of breath and its effect on the physical body, on the emotional body, and on the mental body
  • Bandha and posture: Optimizing and understanding bandhas and their effect on one’s body. Bringing this understanding to the various asanas with a clear purpose of circulating the energy flow in the body.
  • Anatomy of Asana: Basic and functional concepts applicable to yoga asana. In-depth analysis of postural alignment.
  • Pranayama: Learn how to introduce basic breathing for any level.
  • Introduction to Meditation: Bringing a meditative state to all our practices, various approaches will be explored.
  • Yoga Philosophy: Readings and discussion on ancient yogic scriptures. Understanding the roots of the yoga practice.
  • Adapting the FLO: Learn to create and structure Vinyasa flows based on Ashtanga for different levels of participants.
  • Modifications: Learn to modify postures to adapt to beginners or students with physical limitations, always keeping safety as the number one priority.

Learning to teach
The second half of the year will focus on sharing your practice with others and gaining confidence as a teacher.

  • Peer teaching: Through peer teaching, we will learn about cueing, choice of words, tone of voice, and music selection.
  • Adjustments: Hours of partner work will be spent on learning how to read the imbalances of your students and how to make the proper adjustments in a safe manner, either through verbal cues or manual adjustments.
  • Therapeutic touch: incorporation of simple massage techniques and therapeutic touch as per Manju Jois' training.

Going beyond the mat...
Our goal is to open your eyes to yoga but also to other related practices that offer holistic approaches to wellness and related topics.

  • 1st payment: $1750 by March 1st, 2023
  • 2nd payment: $1000 by June 1st, 2023
  • 3rd payment: $1000 by August 1st, 2023

All payments are subject to GST and PST. No refunds will be provided. Missed hours can be made up in the following year's teacher training.

Certifications: At the end of the course, students who fulfill all the requirements will receive a 200-hour Certificate of Yoga Training which is recognized by Yoga Alliance.
