Meet our newest massage therapist, Vera. Vera has turned around her professional life 360 degrees. She was an auditor and an accounting manager working in the corporate world for many years. The last managerial position contributed to her burn out that took almost 3 years to recover from. She had to rebuild her psychological and physical health all over again. She started meditating, attending to her psychological needs as much as to the physical ones. She went to yoga retreats, building and broadening her scope of available tools and resources that would benefit to all aspects of her wellbeing and family life. Massage has helped her recovery so much that she has decided to dive in and become a massage therapist herself, striving to bring relaxation, stress and pain relief, as well as mobility improvement to her clients.
Vera believes that human body is capable of self-healing. Every decision a person makes when it comes to diet, exercise, and mental health are building blocks of one’s wellbeing. Also, Vera strongly believes in preventative approach to self-care. She recommends to her clients massage therapy on a regular basis as one of many components to maintaining good health, instead of turning to massage only when one’s body is already in pain and needs to be “fixed”. Vera loves combining different massaging techniques (therapeutic, deep tissue) as well as using different tools (hot stones, cuppings) during her therapy sessions. Massage is a flow and exchange of energy, so she is ready to share her healing aura with her clients. She has been practicing massage therapy for a year and is a in a good standing with the AMQ (Association des Massotherapeutes du Quebec) association.
