Join Aileen Borruel, Laughter Yoga Instructor, founder of Joyful Connections for a very fun, and interactive workshop. Explore how laughter, play and humor are powerful tools for health, well-being, and healing, while rediscovering your inner joy. You will learn about the incredible benefits laughter and play has on the mind, body, and spirit.
Together we will dive into a unique exercise/activity called Laughter Yoga where anyone can laugh voluntarily without relying on any jokes, humor, or comedy. It was developed in 1995 by physician Dr. Madan Kataria, combining guided laughter and breathing exercises. It is being practiced in more than 110 countries. We all know how good laughter feels, laughter brings more oxygen to the brain and body, lowers blood pressure, reduces stress, releases endorphins (happy hormones) and makes your immune system stronger. It also allows us to feel more connected to others, helps boost our energy, creativity, and keeps our mind positive during challenging times.
During the session you will be guided through warm-up exercises and will alternate between laughter exercises, rhythmic clapping, and deep breathing exercises both seated and standing. We will give ourselves the permission to step out of our comfort zone and use this time to release any stress and tension, use our imagination, dance, play and be silly! Together we will experience childlike playfulness that gives us that
hearty, contagious, belly-laugh we all crave!
This workshop is sure to leave you feeling more positive, connected to yourself, others, more energized, lighter and full of joy! No yoga poses involved, just your willingness and openness to experience something fun and exciting to elevate your joy!
Aileen Borruel is the founder of Joyful Connections which offers wellness workshops that promotes positivity and the importance of human connection for the well-being of others. She is a certified Laughter Yoga Instructor, a McGill University graduate of Social Work, has a diploma in Special Care Counselling and is a proud mama of 4 littles ones. Aileen enjoys dancing, reading, journaling, travelling, and spending time in nature with her family. She is a big believer in the daily practice of gratitude, joy and positivity.
